Latinos in the South, a program of the Latino Commission on AIDS is excited to announce the State of Unión 2024, a free, one-day community convening on October 24th in Charlotte, NC designed to deepen connections between local leaders and advocates, build policy knowledge, and provide tools to aid in mobilizing community while harnessing the power of storytelling to create more equitable health outcomes.
The purpose of State of Unión is to create a dedicated pre-meeting conference for participants attending Encuentro 2024 in Charlotte. This space serves as a crucial meeting point for Southern organizations to connect, collaborate, and explore how their work intersects with healthcare and civic engagement. It’s an opportunity to build networks, share strategies, and amplify the collective impact of our efforts in shaping the future of our communities through active participation and advocacy.The goal is to create a more interactive space where communities can have open discussions and develop strategic methods that can be used to inform their local community with tools and resources.
