Latinos in the South Receives Continued Support from the Georgia Health Initiative
Latinos in the South is proud to share that we have been awarded $65,000 from the Georgia Health Initiative to continue our work in Georgia for a second year. Their investment reflects our shared values and commitment to advancing health equity through community-led advocacy.
We’re honored to partner with the Latino Community Fund of Georgia to mobilize immigrant, LGBTQ+, and Latiné communities and push for improved access to sexual and reproductive health care.
Together, our work will focus on advancing key policy priorities, including pharmacist-initiated PrEP and supporting a statewide certification for community health workers. These initiatives will make care more accessible and culturally responsive for communities in Georgia most impacted by HIV.
“We are proud to partner with the Latino Community Fund and grateful that Georgia Health Initiative funding allows us to formalize our work with partners in the communities most impacted,” said Program Director Judith Montenegro. “This investment in Latine communities and Latine-led organizations doing policy and advocacy work allows us to be at more tables—and build our own.”
