Encuentro Virtual is a convening of HIV/AIDS service organizations, mental-health organizations, faith-based communities, and other health and multi-service organizations that serve Latinx communities and people affected and living with HIV from across the South to build capacity around current HIV and health-related issues affecting Latinx Southerners

Session One

Ending the Epidemic: Georgia

Georgia is home to four counties (Cobb County, DeKalb County, Fulton County, and Gwinnett County) to have been listed as priority jurisdictions for national Ending the HIV Epidemic work. As a pioneer in the South, Georgia continues to teach the HIV/AIDS movement key lessons in prevention and care. Join the Georgia Department of Public Health for an update on their Ending the Epidemic work and to discuss the nuances of their EHE/ETE model and learn new directions for prevention and collaboration in the state.

Join our roundtable to hear community advocates discuss the landscape of LGBTQ+ policy in Georgia, the impacts upon community-built resources, and local strategies to improve the health and well-being of Georgians.
